Adding an AI tool does not automatically fix a slow or fragmented process. The useful starting point is the work itself.
Choose one repeated workflow as the starting point for AI systems and business automation: handling enquiries, preparing a report or finding information for a customer. Follow it from the first input to the final result. Note the people, systems, handovers and exceptions involved.
Ask three questions: What outcome should improve? Which steps are predictable enough to assist or automate? Where does a person need to review the result?
AI may help draft, summarise or classify information. Its value depends on the quality of the information, how it connects to the workflow and who takes responsibility for the output.
Start with a small, defined use case. Compare time spent, errors and service quality before expanding. An Operational Workflow Assessment can help define that first step and what to measure.
